The midnight sun

Its midnight
And the sun is out?

During the summer months in Antarctica, the sun never sets. Its just keeps going around and around in circles in the sky (from our point of view.)

And here, the sun was filmed with a fish eye lens so that you can see the entire sky!

The reason for all of this is due to two things. First, the Earth orbits the sun,  and it takes a year for the earth to make one orbit of the sun. And secondly, the earth is tilted at the poles.
This means the for some of the year, one of the poles is 'facing' the sun all the time, while the other pole is 'facing' away and would be experiencing 24hours of darkness.
